The Bride and Groom

How They Met
Ross and Kathy met for the first time freshmen year at the student cafeteria at Drexel University.  It was in the first couple weeks of the semester, and she was being shy, so her roommate who was friends with Ross dragged her down to eat with the rest of the gang.  The group went to South Street that night as their first night on the town as college students.  Ross and Kathy got to know each other that night and became friends during the next few months.  On Valentine’s day Ross finally asked Kathy to go out with him, and they were a couple through the rest of college.

The Proposal
Exactly five years later, Ross proposed to Kathy to marry him, and said she’d think about it.  Just kidding, of course she said yes.  Here is her description of that night:

“On Valentines Day 2001, we had "supposed" plans to go out do dinner with our good friends that we hadn't seen for a while.  Ross arranged everything for that evening and planned on picking me up after work to go out to dinner.  Well in typical Ross fashion, he was late so I went to meet him outside of my work.  In a few minutes a stretched limo was pulling into my office parking lot.  Since I was the only left in the building, I knew that it had to be him.  The limo door opens and there is Ross, all dressed up in his suit.  I'm kind of confused at this point, but yet I'm getting excited because I have a feeling of what is about to happen.  I get into the limo and there is orchestral Metallica playing in the background (my favorite rock band played by a group of cellists).  Ross then gets down on one knee and asks me to marry him.  As tears come to my eyes, I say Yes!  The rest of the night doesn't compare to that moment, so I'll give the abbreviated version.  We ended up having dinner at the Chart House on Penn’s Landing, a restaurant Ross knew I liked.  There was no double date, that was just a complete setup so that I would get dressed up and allow him to pick me up from work.  When we got to the restaurant there was a dozen red roses waiting at the table.  The whole evening was so magical!  I don't think I could have done a better job planning it myself!”

School and Career
Ross and Kathy both graduated from Drexel University in June 2000.  Kathy graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering, and a minor in Business and Administration.  Ross graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business and Administration with dual concentrations of Management Information Systems (MIS) and Marketing.

Take a look at some photos from Ross and Kathy's college formals.

Kathy is presently working for Rohm and Haas at their Philadelphia plant as a process engineer in the ion exchange business.  She has worked in Alabama, Montreal, Mexico, and London for different projects, and most recently worked in Delaware for a year, for Rodel, a subsidiary of Rohm and Haas.

Ross is working at Boeing Helicopters in Ridley Park, just south of the Philadelphia Airport, as a Systems Administrator.  He is responsible for a number of server computers that provide the data and applications that the engineers use to design and build military rotorcraft used by the US and other countries, such as the MH47-Chinook, AH64-Apache, V22-Osprey, and the RAH66-Comanche.

And the Rest
Kathy is a fanatical looney toon.  I mean a Looney Tunes fanatic.  Her favorite pastime is watching cartoons, playing video games, and cooking.  Kathy recently converted to Judaism, in an educational and enlightening 20 week course.

Ross meanwhile, is a Simpsons super-fan, always trying to live up to the high standards Homer Simpson sets forth.  He is a die-hard Eagles fan, and also loves the Sixers, Phillies and Flyers.  And fantasy football is not just a hobby, it’s an obsession, to the dismay of Kathy.  Watching movies on his home theater system that Kathy won’t let him turn up high enough, and graphic design are also favorite leisure activities of his.

Ross and Kathy love taking vacations.  They haven't traveled the world yet, but they make the most out of vacations with whatever time they get.

Check out at some photos from Ross and Kathy's favorite vacations.

Ross and Kathy recently got a puppy!
On June 8th, 2002, Ross and Kathy picked up their 8 week old golden retriever puppy from a breeder in southwest Delaware.  His name is Maximus Caesar Seidman.  He is actually a nephew of Spencer, Ross's family's dog.

See photos of Maximus!
